There’s no doubt about it. Welcoming a new human into your world is a momentous event.
These little humans are wished for, hoped for, prayed for. They are loved beyond measure, before we even know their names.
We celebrate this time with unique, organic, natural, light filled images focussing on connection and the family unit.
The newborn time goes so quickly. Capture it before it’s too late.
How old should my newborn be?
Honestly, it doesn’t really matter. BUT those sleepy, curly, brand-new-baby images are best captured around the 2 week mark.
How early should I book?
All newborns are booked in well before they are born. We choose a date based on your due date and we add about 10 days. Usually babies arrive close enough to their due date and this then ends up being the date they are photographed, but occasionally they are quite a bit earlier or later than expected, and if so, we just adjust the date where we can.
Booking in your 2nd trimester is best.
My baby is already here! Can I still book?
Yes! Our diary is filled about 2-3 weeks in advance, but because babies arrive earlier or later than expected, we sometimes have last minute availabilities and will do our best to fit you in.
If your baby is a little older than the 2 week mark, don’t stress. We’ll still achieve gorgeous images.
Can my older kiddos attend? What about my partner? Fur Baby?
Yes, yes and yes!
We photograph everything and anything that constitutes ‘family’ – welcoming a new human into your clan is important for everyone, so everyone is welcome, including the fur baby.
What do we wear?
We have a gorgeous selection of dresses in our studio wardrobe and you are welcome to choose from anything in our range. Our studio wardrobe works best when we ‘mix and match’ from things at home, or you’re welcome to bring along anything you’d like from home.
Plain and simple works best, anything that you feel fabulous in. For partners, anything co-ordinating with you is perfect – keep it simple and steer clear of any large checks, spots, stripes or logos. If in doubt, just get in touch and we can help co-ordinate the whole family if you need.
Should I have my hair and make up done?
This is completely up to you, however we do find that mumma’s who invest a little bit in themselves, feel just that little bit more fabulous in front of the camera. And how you feel is what it’s all about at the end of the day!
So if it’s a good excuse to find 45 minutes to escape to be pampered, then go for it!
Where are these sessions held?
The vast majority of our newborn sessions are held at our gorgeous, light filled studio in Edwardstown. Our studio is fully equiped with everything needed for your session – change table, wraps, blankets, burp cloths and COFFEE.
However, we are more than happy to photograph your little family at your home (see our Family Home Sessions) or our Forest & Field location Blackwood, or our Beach location at Port Willunga Beach.
How much are newborn sessions?
All our sessions are $285.
This covers your photographer’s time and talent capturing your gorgeous images, and an in studio Design and Ordering Appointment. Your session also includes one 8×10″ matted art print of your choice. (the session fee does not include digital files, these are available to purchase)
You can then choose to order additional prints and products, including digital files, from our Studio Catalogue. We go through this in detail at your Design and Ordering Appointment, however to give you a rough idea, most of our families spend around $2000.
There is no minimum spend, and no obligation to purchase. However, you WILL LOVE your images, so please make sure you discuss our pricing with your partner and all decision makers prior to booking.
How do I book?
You can jump on the studio’s calendar linked below, choose from Studio Session – Newborn, Forest & Field, Family Home and even the Beach.
In order to secure your date and time, we require the session fee to be paid in full, however this is able to be rescheduled in the event of illness, covid or bad weather*
*studio discretion. T&C’s apply.
