SAPPA Gold Wedding Images | Adelaide Wedding Photographer

I’ve been meaning to post these images for a while. The SA division of the Australian Professional Photography Awards, lovingly known as “SAPPA” was held in November last year.  I was so incredibly blown away to bring home not just one, but TWO gold awards for prints I submitted ….. I think I’ve been in shock for quite a few months (not to mention incredibly busy heading straight into one of my busiest wedding seasons!)

I’ve had so many requests for me to post the images, that … well … I’ve finally got around to doing it! (thank you end of wedding season!)

The experience was completely unreal. I knew I loved the images and had been encouraged by friends and colleagues to enter them. Of course, in my (lack of) wisdom, I chose to only enter two prints into the Wedding category that year (I will never quite understand my reasoning behind it) thus ensuring that I couldn’t ‘win’ the title of SA Wedding Photographer of the year, even though it wouldn’t have mattered what my other two prints scored! (rules state the winner must have entered 4 prints in total) Yes, I’m still shaking my head at  my own stupidity. Lesson learnt, I can assure you! lol

So without further ado, I give you the two winning gold prints:

GOLDING WINERY SAPPA

This print scored 92, and I was watching the live screening of judging from my desk, with my husband jumping up and down behind me and me staring blankly at the screen, I did at least remember to take a picture of the scores as they came up (yes, I think I was shaking, I couldn’t hold the iphone still!)

Again, I could hardly keep the phone still!

It is only now, that I look back over the images and remember the feeling in my tummy and the never-ending grin on my face, that I realise just how blessed I am to be doing what I do. And to be recognized by incredibly talented industry peers and awarded such a huge honor, is completely humbling. I don’t particularly like the limelight. Nor do I like tooting my own horn. Perhaps that’s why it’s taken me so long to get around to this very very belated post.

I have learnt so much by entering the awards, and with the 2013 SAPPA’s coming up, I’m sure we’ll be seeing an amazing display of South Australian talent entering the awards. I promise, IF I win anything in the coming awards, I’ll make it a priority to share the images straight away! lol

Much love to all the beautiful brides and grooms I have photographed over the last year or so. You continue to inspire me.
